Sleepless Nights

Sleepless Nights
When the night becomes quiet and slow,
And the tired winds stop their flow,
I lie awake and close my eyes,
But sleep never comes, no matter how I try.
Your memories walk into my room,
Soft like light, silent like gloom,
Every thought brings back your face,
Every heartbeat calls your name in that space.
The pillow knows my restless side,
Where unsaid words and feelings hide,
I turn and turn, but peace won’t stay,
Because your absence fills my day.
Sometimes I drift into a dream,
Where you smile just like it used to seem,
We talk, we laugh, we walk so near,
And for a moment, you are here.
But morning breaks that fragile night,
Dreams fade away with the light,
And once again the truth I see—
You are far, not here with me.
Loneliness sits beside my bed,
With all the things I never said,
And every night repeats the same—
Silence, memories, and your name.
If missing you had a sound to keep,
It would be these nights without sleep,
A heart awake, a soul so true,
Still waiting, still dreaming of you.
